Welcome to Liberty High School, home of the Lancer Nation. I am honored to be the Principal of this amazing school.

I am now in my 28th year in education.
I have spent my first ten years as a high school business and marketing teacher and am starting my 18th year as an administrator – all at Liberty.  I was an Assistant Principal and activities director for seven year and am now enjoying my 11th year as Liberty’s Principal.
I am a graduate of Hot Springs High School in the Black Hills of South Dakota (Go Bison!), received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of South Dakota, Vermillion (Go Coyotes!), a Masters of Education from Colorado State University, Fort Collins (Go Rams!), and received an administrator’s license from the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs (Go Mountain Lions!). I love being at the high school level and watching our students transition from teenagers to young men and women. Your students are receiving a world class education from a dedicated staff who put student learning first.  When I am not at school or attending school functions, I like to spend time with my wife, kids, and dogs. I am a big fan of football and soccer and like to play video games whenever there is some spare time.

Assistant Principal

I was raised in a small town in eastern Colorado and feel extremely proud to have been born in this beautiful state.

I earned my bachelor's degree in English with an emphasis in Secondary Education from the University of Northern Colorado (GO BEARS). My lifelong dream of becoming an educator and the passion for teaching students became a reality in the fall of 2003. In my sixteen years in education, I have attained my master's degree in Educational Leadership and principal licensure from Adams State University and served as an English teacher, department chair, Dean of Students, and Assistant Principal. I am beyond grateful that my educational path has led me to Liberty High School, home of the Lancer Nation. This decision has enabled me to serve and support the LHS student body, staff, and parents along with the District 20 community. I will be starting my third year at Liberty and sixth year as an Assistant Principal serving the Class of 2020.

Assistant Principal & Athletic/Activities Director

Welcome students and parents to Liberty High School! I am privileged to be a part of the Lancer Nation and serve as the Assistant Principal for the Class of 2022!
This is my first year at Liberty, but it is my 18th year in education. I graduated from the University of California, San Diego in 1999 with a bachelor's degree in Human Development.  I started my educational career teaching middle school in Arizona and upon moving to Colorado Springs in 2004, I began teaching mathematics at Doherty High School. In 2008, I earned my Master's Degree in Education with an emphasis in Administration and Supervision from the University of Phoenix. After teaching for 15 years at Doherty High School, I am looking forward to serving the Lancer Nation as an Assistant Principal and Activities Director. I am passionate about activities, athletics, and helping students find their niche in high school. When I am not working, I spend time with my dog, my friends, and my family. I love to cook, read, watch sports, and work out. I am looking forward to an exciting school year!

Assistant Principal

Welcome to Liberty and the Lancer Nation.  I am a D20 graduate (AAHS ’89) and a 1994 graduate of UCCS with BA in History.  I completed my teaching license through Regis University in 1996, and taught Social Studies while coaching football, wrestling, and baseball.  I received a master’s in education administration from Grand Canyon University in 2003.  I also earned a Certified Athletic Administrator (CAA) certification through the NIAAA in 2014.   This is my tenth year as an Assistant Principal at Liberty, and my 28th year in education. I will be serving the Class of 2023 as their administrator, and will oversee the Math, Social Studies, Visual Arts, and World Language departments.  My wife Nancy (AAHS ’93) and I are the proud parents of our two Liberty graduates’, Morgan (’18) and Taylor (’20).  The magic happens when kids and teens feel connected, respected, and loved.  That is true whether school is in-person or online.  I am looking forward to a great year.
